“I started counselling with Laura for substance addiction and she made me feel at ease from our first meeting. I very quickly felt I could trust her as my therapist and share difficult emotions. She is kind, empathetic, understanding and listens without any judgement. She has helped me identify past trauma and everyday triggers and anxieties. Working through these, I feel I have grown as a person and I now have a better awareness and acceptance of myself. Laura has offered me support using various therapy techniques, such as EMDR, based on her in-depth knowledge of trauma. These have allowed me to be in control of my life and I truly feel grateful for having Laura as my therapist. I would recommend her to everyone.”

“I sought counselling initially to try and understand and deal with my anxieties relating to the breakdown of my marriage of 22 years; I am in a new relationship and keen to avoid the mistakes of the past. Though we have certainly tackled this, through my sessions with Laura, I have uncovered how many of my issues in my adult life, stem back to my childhood.
Laura is kind, patient, compassionate and a fantastic listener and has given me so many tools to help me understand why I behave the way I do in certain situations, how to recognise those triggers and approach them with a new sense of self-compassion.
Laura has a great ability to get to the root of an issue without causing distress; I’ve realised that I shouldn’t minimise what happened to me as a child and that I can be the mother, partner, friend that I strive to be without constantly lambasting myself for my perceived inadequacies. I would highly recommend Laura and will do to my friends and family if ever asked; thank you Laura.”

“I was lucky enough to be allocated to Laura for a course of counselling and now would not choose anyone else to work with if needed. With Laura’s support I now understand myself more than I ever thought possible and continue to use this knowledge to live a happier and healthier life. It can be hard, and at times upsetting but working with someone like Laura, who doesn’t judge, by your side makes a huge difference.”

“I came for counselling as I was struggling with grief from a recent bereavement, however, during my time with Laura we explored that there were other issues going on alongside which were preventing me from moving forward in various areas of my life.
Despite a lot of resistance (which I now understand is a protective part of me) Laura helped me to learn tools to help myself regulate, as well as understand what was happening when I was becoming overwhelmed. By understanding what was going on, I have been able to learn how to listen to the different parts of me and be kinder to myself.
I feel ready to continue putting these tools into practice. I know that there are likely to be times when I forget to use the tools, but I no longer beat myself up about it.
Thank you for all your support, Laura.”
